The Nightstar automated operation allows spraying at the user’s convenience, day or night. The user simply adds the dispersant formulation to the chemical tank, water to flush tank and then turns the agitation switch on (if the operator is using wettable powders), set the program and then leave the premises.
To be able to apply disinfectants as well as insecticides and fungicides, the applicator must be able to produce the proper droplet size. The Nightstar has all an operator needs by giving the user a choice of 4 different droplet sizes:
- 8 MICRONS: For control of insects in their adult form, droplets of this size will settle from the air in approximately 3 hours, thereby minimizing the possibility of pesticides being exhausted or ventilated from the greenhouse.
- 20 MICRONS: For leaving an insecticide deposit on the leaves of trees and bushes, including the underside.
- 30 MICRONS: To leave a larger fungicidal deposit for purposes of protection as the leaf on a tree or bush grows.
- 50 MICRONS: Delivers a “wetting effect” for activating the dispersed disinfectant.
